Is Janet Jackson's Muslim Husband Influencing Her Fashion Choices

While many aging pop stars continue to dress provocatively in their 40s and 50s (ahem, Madonna), Janet Jackson isn't one of them. And the reason may be because she wants to respect her husband's Muslim beliefs -- and possibly her own.
Jackson, 49, was recently spotted at Paris Fashion Week with her husband, Qatari billionaire Wissam Al Mana, covered in black from head to toe. Star magazine pointed out that her "drastic change in her choice of attire" over the last couple of years may be because of her "ultra conservative and private hubby"The star is currently in the midst of her "Unbreakable" tour after launching her first album in seven years earlier this month. She has appeared on stage wearing costumes that cover up her figure. In the past, she's tended to go for a more sexy look on stage.
Even though she doesn't always cover her hair (which many Muslim women do), Jackson hasn't been flaunting her legs or cleavage.
So perhaps she is toning things down out of respect for her spouse. According to MSN, Jackson recently converted to Islam -- so her new look may be due to her own beliefs.
MSN cited a report from The Sun, with a source claiming: ''She feels like she has found a home with her new religion and has told members of her family, who completely respect her choice. She has spent a great deal of time studying the religion and its followers. The days of raunchy dance moves and sexual lyrics are long gone for Janet.''
The report added that Jackson ends her current world tour shows with "Insha Allah," which means "If Allah wills." The singer has not confirmed that she has converted to Islam.
It's a big fashion change for the pop star. Don't forget, in 2004, she had a "wardrobe malfunction" that exposed her nipple to the masses during the Super Bowl halftime show.
Jackson was previously married to singer James DeBarge and video director Rene Elizondo
