Floyd Mayweather couldn't help but tease fans about possibly coming back for a 50th fight.
Floyd
Mayweather stopped by the announcers table on Fox Sports last night to
support his fight Andrew Tabiti. With Tabiti making quick work of Thomas
Lodi, Mayweather took an opportunity to tease the audience about possibly making a return to the ring. Sitting with Paulie Malignaggi, Floyd Mayweather said:
"I'm not coming back...but," joked Mayweather, before adding: "I'm just happy to be on the other side."
I'm sure many people won't take
this as a joke, especially since most people never believed Mayweather
was really hanging up the gloves following his rout of Andre Berto. The
most common theory about a Mayweather comeback is that he'll return next
year to break Rocky Marciano's 49-0 record by taking on the winner of
Manny Pacquiao-Amir Khan in a 50th fight.
The Pacquiao-Khan fight is
starting to look like it's all but official and Khan obviously has
strong beliefs that beating Manny Pacquiao will finally deliver him a
fight with Mayweather, one he's been desperately seeking for several
years now.
