FC Ifeanyiubah mull Japanese coach

Federation Cup champions FC Ifeanyiubah are considering hiring Japanese coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi as their head coach next season, supersport.com can report.

Yatsuhashi was at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos to watch FC Ifeanyiubah defeat Nasarawa United to win their first-ever Cup title and he has been in talks with the owner of the Nnewi club, Dr Ifeanyi Ubah.
Supersport.com sources informed that Brazilian coach Rafael Everton, who led FC Ifeanyiubah to their first Cup triumph and a fourth place finish in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) last season, has been offered an assistant coach role to work with Yatsuhashi.
However, the former Fluminense man told the FC Ifeanyiubah hierarchy that he should be given a two-week break to go on holidays to see his family in Brazil before reaching a decision on whether to accept the assistant role to the Japanese or not.
FC Ifeanyiubah are looking to strengthen their contingent for the new season as they are competing in three fronts - the Caf Confederation Cup, the NPFL and the Federation Cup.
The Brazilian took charge of first-team duties at FC Ifeanyiubah during the season and has put in impressive numbers which also led to his being named League Bloggers Awards (LBA) manager for the month of August this year.
The possibility of Everton's exit could also mean another Brazilian, Alberico da Silva, who played in midfield all season for FC Ifeanyiubah and scored four league goals, could leave the club as well if his countryman opts to discontinue his time.
