Ahmad Ahmad wins CAF Presidential Election, beating Issa Hayatou who has been in office since 1988. Ahmad got 34 votes out of 54 while Hayatou had only 20.CAF is now the largest football confederation in the world with the acceptance of Zanzibar as a member. Zanibar was unanimously accepted at the ongoing CAF Congress in Addis Ababa.
